SCIA & SCIAHK Arbitration Rules Roadshow and Arbitrator Training Event Holds in Italy
From 28 May to 31 May 2023, Dr. Liu Xiaochun, President of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (hereinafter the “SCIA”) & Executive Chairman of the South China International Arbitration Center (Hong Kong) (hereinafter the “SCIAHK”), led a delegation to visit Italy and held the Arbitration Rules Roadshow and Arbitrator Training Event in Milan and Rome. The Event aimed to promote an interpretation of the Arbitration Rules of the SCIA and SCIAHK, an introduction of the latest developments in international arbitration in China, particularly in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and an improvement of a high-quality development of China-EU economic and trade cooperation.
Dr. Liu Xiaochun issued letters of appointment to SCIA arbitrators resident in Italy, including Giorgio SACERDOTI (Professor of Bocconi University International Law School, and former Chairman of the WTO Appellate Body), Stefano ZUNARELLI (Professor of University of Bologna), Donato NITTI (Italian lawyer and Consul in the Kingdom of the Netherlands), etc.. Representatives of enterprises, arbitrators and lawyers from Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna and other places in Italy had in-depth exchanges on the innovative development of the international commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.
During the visit to Italy, the group reviewed the legal protection of the legitimate rights and interests in foreign investment while visiting the Milan Bar Association and several Chinese companies that have invested in Italy.
