• Introduction

In order to meet the requirements of legal professionals, business community and the majority of parties, based on the practice of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court (hereinafter referred to as “SCIA”) for many years, SCIA established the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court Mediation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "SCIA Mediation Center") on December 22, 2008 in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations and applicable arbitration rules. It aims to encourage the parties to conduct mediation before or outside the arbitration proceedings and help them resolve various domestic and foreign commercial disputes in combination with arbitration in a harmonious, efficient, cost-effective and fast way.

The SCIA Mediation Center, based on the autonomy of the parties and relying on the fairness and authority of SCIA, has built a new bridge for friendly communication and rational negotiation for different parties to settle disputes. The main goal of the SCIA is to minimize confrontations and resolve disputes in a harmonious way that allows for win-win outcomes. This is conducive to maintaining cooperative relations between the parties, saving administrative and judicial resources, easing social conflicts, and building a harmonious society.
