On 15 November 2023, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (hereinafter as “SCIA”) jointly held a seminar on “International Arbitration Rules Innovations and Cross-Border Insolvency Dispute Resolution” (hereinafter as the “Seminar”) with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (hereinafter as “SIAC”) at the International Conference Hall of the SCIA Tower in Qianhai.

The Seminar delved into two key themes: “The Developments in International Arbitration: Reforms, Innovations, and Trends in Institutional Rules” and “The Role of Arbitration in Resolving Cross-Border Insolvency-Related Disputes”. Distinguished guests from various sectors in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen  engaged in discussions regarding the recent developments and advancements in international arbitration rules, especially within the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, as well as the role of arbitration in resolving cross-border insolvency disputes. Nearly 70 participants, including arbitrators, mediators, corporate legal counsels, foreign-related lawyers, and scholars, actively participated on-site.

The Seminar marked another milestone in strengthening partnership between SCIA and SIAC. Since its establishment in 1983, SCIA has effectively leveraged its distinct capabilities in international arbitration of cross-border jurisdiction, law application, awards implementation and resources sharing. The continuous collaboration between SCIA and globally renowned arbitration and mediation institutions such as SIAC has facilitated the alignment of rules, integration of mechanisms, and exchange of expertise.
