SCIA and SIMC Jointly Host International Commercial Mediation Professional Training Program

From 11 to12 November 2023, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (hereinafter as “SCIA”) and the Singapore International Mediation Centre (hereinafter as “SIMC”) jointly hosted a two-day International Commercial Mediation Training Program (also known as the SIMC Specialist Mediator Workshop, hereinafter asthe“Program”) at the SCIA Tower in Qianhai, Shenzhen. The Program also served as the second phase of the SCIA International Arbitration Training Program for Elite Lawyers in the Greater Bay Area (SCIA IATP).

The Program focused on the theory and practice of international commercial mediation and other diversified dispute resolution methods, which featured rich course contents such as role-playing, case studies, practical analysis, and skill-sharing. Experts were invited to teach, with 24 participants attended on-site, including lawyers from 12 well-known domestic and international law firms such as Fangda, Zhong Lun, Hankun, and Llinks, as well as senior legal counsels from 9 companies including Tencent, Guosen Securities, COFCO Grains & Cereals, China Merchants Group, and Hilong Oil Service & Engineering, etc.

Since its establishment in 1983, SCIA has consistently adhered to the principle of “party autonomy”, upholding the values of openness, inclusiveness, independence, impartiality, and innovation. SCIA is committed to creating a platform for collaboration between the legal and business communities and to actively promoting the development of international arbitration in China. In the future, SCIA will continue to launch training activities, collaborate with the industry, enrich the legal service ecosystem, enhance collaboration with Hong Kong and Macao, and build an international arbitration center oriented towards the global stage.
