    The SCIA Delegation Visits the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS)

    On July 2, 2024, the delegation from the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) visited the New York office of the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS). A symposium was held with Mr. Matthew P. York, Vice President of JAMS and relevant staff, arbitrators and mediators in the New York office.

    During the meeting, Mr. Dong Lianhe, Vice President of the SCIA expressed his gratitude to JAMS for its warm reception and suggested that the two institutions should have more collaboration in the field of international arbitration and mediation. Ms. Wang Hao, Deputy Director of the Research Department of the SCIA, provided a detailed overview of the latest developments and innovative achievements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center. Mr. Matthew P. York welcomed the SCIA delegation and introduced the history of JAMS, types of services at JAMS, organizational structure, mode of operation, and recent developments of JAMS, etc. Ms. Renee Spertzel, Vice Chairperson of the Practice and Development Department of JAMS, Mr. Robert B. Davidson, Head of the Arbitration Department of JAMS, Mr. Giuseppe De Palo, JAMS Mediator, Mr. Jeffery Benz, JAMS Arbitrators and Mediators, Mr. Christopher M. Kwok and Ms. Lorraine M. Brennan had an in-depth exchange of views on the development of international arbitration and mediation in the Greater Bay Area with the SCIA delegation. JAMS indicated that it will continue to deepen the communication and collaboration with the SCIA, and extended a cordial invitation to the SCIA to join the series of events in 2025 California Arbitration Week.
