    SCIA Holds Exchange Activities for Chinese-Funded Enterprises in Vietnam

    The Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) held a series of exchange activities on overseas investment and international arbitration for Chinese-funded enterprises in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Haiphong in Vietnam from 12 Oct  to 16 Oct 2024. Symposiums with ZTE, BYD and Midea was held to gain an understanding of their internationalization operation situation and to jointly explore overseas legal risk prevention and dispute resolution.

     

    Last year, China’s outward foreign direct investment flow reached $177.29 billion, an increase of 8.7 percent from the previous year, accounting for 11.4 percent of the global share and making it one of the top three globally for 12 consecutive years. Investment in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached $25.12 billion, an increase of 34.7 percent, while investment in Vietnam reached $4.5 billion, an increase of nearly 80 percent year-on-year.

     

    By the end of 2023, China’s outward foreign direct investment stock had reached $2.96 trillion, one of the top three globally for seven consecutive years.

     

    As one of the largest sources of investment for Vietnam, China has launched a total of 3,791 projects in the country, with total registered capital exceeding $25 billion.
