    Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Visits SCIA

    Edwin Tong, Singapore's Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law visited the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) in China on 25 Nov 2024.

    Tong and his delegation visited the SCIA Tower, the headquarters of SCIA located in Qianhai, Shenzhen. They gained a detailed understanding of the innovative development of China’s international arbitration in Shenzhen since China's reform and opening-up in 1978.

    Dr. Liu Xiaochun, President of the SCIA and Executive Chairman of the South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIA HK) welcomed the delegation, expressing his hope for further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Singapore’s business and legal communities to help China’s enterprises in their overseas investments and trade.

    Tong emphasized the importance of collaboration to assist Asian businesses in resolving disputes and fostering mutual prosperity amidst the deepening economic ties between China and Singapore. He expressed confidence in the significant progress of the SCIA, foreseeing enhanced cooperation prospects moving forward.

    Representatives from Singapore’s Ministry of Law, Consulate General of Singapore in Guangzhou, and the SCIA participated in the discussion.
