SCIA Insurance Law Experts Committee

The SCIA Insurance Law Experts Committee was established in June 2015, aiming to make the overall planning of the study of legal theories and practices in the insurance industry; to improve the study of legal matters, and to provide theoretical support for legislation and judicial practice.

The Insurance Law Experts Committee is composed of a chairman and several members. They are experts and scholars in the insurance field and shall perform the following duties in this Experts Committee:

(I) Studying the difficult legal issues in the theory and practice of insurance law.

(II) Providing theoretical and practical advice to the NPC Standing Committee for amending laws and to the Supreme People's Court for formulating judicial interpretations.

(III) Discussing the difficult legal issues of SCIA arbitration or mediation cases regarding insurance contract and proposing methods, suggestions, and opinions.

(IV) Establishing a platform for communication with relevant legislative authorities, judicial authorities and scholars in the form of the SCIA Insurance Law Experts Committee Forum.

(V) Establishing a mechanism and platform for professional communication and exchanges of  insurance industry in South China.

(VI) Establishing a platform for communication and exchange among arbitrators in the insurance industry.
